Louis Braille Blind Development Institute is active in Vishwakarma Industrial Area since the year 1981 for the benefit of visually impaired. Continuous efforts are being made to speed up the works for the benefit of the visually impaired by getting this institute duly registered under the Rajasthan Cooperative Society Act 1958 in the year 1983. In this direction, “Blind Upper Primary School (Vishishth)” was started by the institute on July 01, 2019 with only 5 blind/visually impaired students. Presently about 22 blind/visually impaired students are studying in the school.
But due to the lockdown announced by the central and state government and due to the dreadful epidemic like corona, the children were sent to their homes, only those children are living in the hostels of the institute, who do not have any family members or they do not want to take them. It is the effort of the institute that maximum blind children can be benefited through this school.
There is every possibility of increase in the number of students in the school in future. The school is registered with the Registrar of Societies, Government of Rajasthan, recognized by the Department of Education, Government of Rajasthan for classes I to VIII.
Over the years we have created several innovative sustainable and scalable solutions in concurrence with the policies of the government of India that help us continue sharing the gift of education with underprivileged children.
